This woman was one of my grandmother's best friends at the Carlisle Indian school. Her name (my grandmother)was Lena Watson, listed as a "Digger" Indian (a derogatory term...she was a Maidu Indian from California.) They met there and thru Estaiene's connections was able to help to get my Grandmother a job in a "good" home as an upstair's maid! I believe that Estaiene later went on to become a nurse, my mother was named after her, and I after my mother!! And the funny thing is we both became nurses!! I know very little aside from this. My mother (who is now 89 and her brain failing), may be able to remember more.
