Hi I am looking for the tribe my ggg grandmother was from. She was born in Ohio in 1825. The family she was from was 100% English. I was told her name was Morningstar, and the family she lived with, their last name was Lightfoot. I later found out that her Christian name was Rebecca. She was married in Holmes County OH to a Hiram Jones in 1844. A very mysterious man, we think may also be Indian. Nothing is known about him.
I am trying to find her tribe. I have heard a lot in the family that it is Miami. I known there was also a Willow Morningstar born in Darke County OH. She was found with her dead parents at her home. She was Cherokee. Her brother went to live with her family in Oklahoma, she was adopted and named as Rhodilla Shaner and later married Thomas G. Silvers.
I do not know if there is a link there.
I have been looking 34 years, with other family members older than I looking also.
I hope someone can help us. Thank you.
