 My greatgreatgrandmother, Susan(ah) Brown, was reported to be a Cherokee. She married George C. Coburn around 1864 and they showed up in census records in Menifee and Montgomery Counties in Kentucky. George Coburn was from Floyd County, KY, so Susanah may have been born there as well. Susanah died in 1918, according to my grandmother's records, but I have never found any public records of her birth, marriage or death, nor where she is buried.

I suspect Susanah may have been related to a David Brown (brother?) and possibly an Aaron Brown (father?) due to proximity on census records and some land transactions in Montgomery County.

Does anyone have knowledge of Native American Browns in Kentucky?
