Subject: searching for my cherokee connection of the john catron and jacob smith line

 needin help with my great grandpa jacob smith and the connection to john catron, cherokee indian. jacob's parents were william smith and mary catron. cherokee.
mary's parents were peggy or margret hilderbrand and john catron.both were both born in tn. got moved to oklahoma,but i havent found jacob's connection. as they were listed as white. but this is not true info. is there anyway i can find the connection?
