My great great grandmother was Maria Antonia Osorio Rain.
According to her marriage records (found in Yuma, AZ dated 1883) were Antonio Osorio and Josepha Verdugo. I've been told that Antonia was born in Magdalena, MX and that she was of Yaqui descent. Are there records available to proove or disproove this. Most of the documents I've found (ie death cert, etc tend to "white her up"... some census say she is mexican... a delayed certificate of birth for one of her sons simply identifies he as Indian but doesn't say from which tribe...... I've found nothing on Antonio Osorio........ we also think a woman in the Yuma Census named Louisa Aillia/Alaya/Olea? might be Josepha Verdugo's mother....... I know this is confusing but we are working with very little at this point.
