Beatrice, in order to establish your mother's Sioux Indian linage you must know birth date, birth place, baptismal date and place. Her parents' name and any other family names if possible. If possible her marriage date to your dad and his name, birth date/place, baptismal date/place. See if in any of her docs you find that she is indian descent. Look-up the indian rolls (Dawes & etc)also look in your Family History Center in your area. Search the Census and Federal Census for the area she was born or lived in. This is a start for you and your research, don't give up, its very addicting. I have been research for over five yrs. Sometimes, you need to step back alittle and reinergize. You'll find something that will lead you to your Indian Heritage/Linage of your mother. GOOD LUCK!
