En horas recientes se llevó la final del certamen Señorita Chiquimula 2008, en donde como jurado calificador estuvo la hermosa señorita Rita Meda quien formó parte en Miss Guatemala 2008. Siendo electa como como la ganadora y representante para Reina Nacional de Independencia a Andrea Rocío Vásquez Ruballos de 19 años de edad, como Primera Finalista y representante para Reina Nacional de la Juventud a Odilia Jeaneth Aguirre de 19 años y como Segunda Finalista a Doris Elizabeth Burgos López de 19 años.
