That's what I'm talking about & good for you sir! Thank heavens there's someone on the same page as me...... You're right in the 1970's they hadn't been playing the 70's because then it was up to date rock & pop music still but at the time they were still playing stuff from prior to the 50's & I can vividly remember this because I remember my mother teaching me to dance to the stuff on the radio & when the big band stuff would come on she'd go like crazy. I can vividy remember her really teaching me to the "Boogy Woody Bulgle Boy of Company B" & it was NOT the Bette Midler singing it but the Andrew Sisters! in the 1970's the mix was the 40's 50's & 60's & the late 60's the older folks would get a little annoyed with because they "weren't all that old"! LOL But just like they were playing Benny Goodman then today they played Chuck Berry & I'm not sure what all these people are talking about in that they feel it's all 80's music being played? I listened all day today & I thought the mix was a real balanced one with many songs from the early 60's a couple from the late 50's Chuck Berry & Elvis were both played though I'm not sure if the numbers they'd play may have been from their careers in the early 60's. Still I just think that the station has only just gotten started they must have a heck of a supply back there with all that was left from the old WCBS & so all people need to do is just request when that option becomes available to us. I just hope that all the complaints don't actually get seen anywhere & they ruin it for the rest of us. I've lived for this day & I'd hate to see the plug get pulled because songs from 30 yers ago aren't old enough for them?
