As I type this, I am listening to Dan Taylor. He has been telling people about the steam pipe explosion that occurred yesterday and how to get around it.

This made me realize a couple of things. First of all, people that listened to Jack-FM over the past two years did not have access to information. This is because the so called experts at CBS Radio in order to save money determined that the audience was not interested in learning about what was going on and how to survive after an event of this proportion. In the end, they lost money because as we all know, $16 is less than $30 million.

Many stations will not tell you much about what's going on in the city because they feel this will take away from their morning show. CBS-FM always talked to the audience and not at them. This involved everything from information about the artists they were playing to news, traffic and weather. This is one of the things that made the station such a part of the culture and life style of New York.

Congratulations to CBS-FM for talking to the audience and getting it done.
