Charlie Mac, I think we both see the realism here. I'll have to stick to satellite radio, I would like to see the station that I always listened to since 1972 return, but most likely that is gone forever. As for those who enjoy this new station, I hope it continues and lasts a long time for your sakes, but I firmly believe if there is no improvement, this station is doomed to failure. Remember that the elimination of legitimate Oldies music from the old WCBS-FM is what brought in the JACK format top begin with. I can't see how returning to a failed format and adding more of what brought about the failure, and having less of what made it successful in the past, can bring about success. WCBS has decided to maintain it's JACK format on WCBS-FM-HD so it still remains in the wings as a potentially returning just as this was relegated to WCBS-FM-HD for the past 2 years. I might suggest they have 2 oldies formats on both of the stations one more concentrated on the real oldies music and another with the watered down eighties, seventies, and slight bit of sixties. It may help them to determine what could bring more success in this town. New York City has always been about tradition. WCBS-FM 101.1, the golden 101, we play your favorite oldies, remember (enter the year here), and the great New York City disc jockeys, are an integral part of our tradition. If they decide to return the tradition, people will embrace it with open arms. New Yorkers are much too sophisticated to buy into this farce they are trying to perpetuate as WCBS-FM, when clearly it is not. I only hope for the best, but I am still waiting for a long time old friend to return, this is not my old friend at all.
