The problem with radio today is that company's are allowed to own more than one FM station in the same market. Infinity owns 3 FM stations in the same market that are doing poorly. If they took oldies off one of there stations, were they going to put oldies on one of their other stations that are doing poorly? The answer is NO. If somebody else owned those 2 stations, they would have picked up the oldies format. I am well aware of the demo's problem. I have been told by somebody in radio who I will not name that Clear Channel would be interested in oldies if one of their stations were in trouble. Unfortunatly none of their stations are in trouble.
