I too was a big fan of WCBS-FM for more than 30 years. I was very sadden and disappointed when they drop their Oldies format. Try as I might, I could not get into the Jack format, then I was overjoyed with I found 96.7 (koolfm) since it was within listening range of my home and car. Now another disappointment when I awoke the other morning and not hearing the morning DJ brightening my start of the day. In listening the past few days the "Coast" is just another form of "Jack Radio" though their selection of music is a little better to cope with. Their is no Jack but a Jackie -- no DJ's. The coast is supposed to signify the coastal area of Connecticut (Stamford, Norwalk and Fairfield County with local traffic and news for that area). I am wondering if their programing director worked for Infinity Broadcasting Co and WCBS-FM because they did the change in the same underhanded way as Infinity. I suppose they only gave their DJ's and hour's notice that they no longer had a job.
