Eventually, these stations, whether it be JACK-FM, 96.7 THE COAST or whatever they call them will have to make money. They ditched Baby Boomers because they're too "old". Station operators like CC and CBS think the younger generation is awaiting them with open arms. HELLO!!! They aren't! Their coveted demographic is wired up to their I-Pods! One wonders what they'll try next!

How will CBS try to spin it when JACK-FM observes it's first anniversary in June having likely spent a full year as the lowest rated full-power FM in New York City? How long can you keep taking a tax loss? Meanwhile, the disenfranchised listeners continue to find and enjoy the alternatives on the internet and satellite. Just like how the domestic auto industry lost its market to imports, and broadcast TV lost market to cable alternatives. Now it's the radio industry's turn. Stay tuned, it's going to get mighty interesting!
