GUS GOSSERT WAS ON WPIX ON SUNDAY NIGHTS WITH A DOO WOP SHOW. HE ALSO WORKED AT CBS-FM FOR A SHORT TIME BEFORE IT WAS OFFICIALLY AN OLDIES STATION. I HAVE GONE TO THE WEBSITE NY MEMORIES AND THEY NOT ONLY HAVE A TRIBUTE TO WOR-FM AND 99X BUT OTHER STATIONS AS WELL. THERE IS A SPECIAL BWANA JOHNNY TRIBUTE SITE AS PART OF NY RADIO MEMORIES AS WELL AS WWDJ. BWANA JOHNNY WAS MY FAVORITE. THERE ARE SEVERAL BWANA JOHNNY AIRCHECKS ON REEL RADIO FROM WWDJ AS WELL AS FROM KYA. THERE ARE SOME GREAT WOLFMAN JACK AIRCHECKS ON THERE AS WELL. THE ONE GUY FROM THE 99X DAYS NOBODY MENTIONS IS JAY THOMAS. I ALSO WANT TO MENTION THAT DEAN ANTHONY WHO WAS ONE OF THE WMCA GOOD GUYS WORKED AT WWDJ FOR A SHORT TIME. I LOVED WWDJ. IT IS TO BAD IT WAS ONLY AROUND FOR A SHORT TIME AND HAD A WEAK SIGINAL. I MENTIONED BEFORE IN ONE OF MY OTHER POST THAT TOMMY EDWARDS WHO WORKED AT WOR-FM IS STILL ON THE RADIO. HE IS WORKING AT WRLL IN CHICAGO IN THE MORNINGS WITH LARRY LUJACK. YOU CAN LISTEN TO HIM AT realoldies 1690.com. I STILL HAVE THE 2 WOR-FM ALBUMS. THEY ARE REAL COLLECTORS ITEMS WITH PICTURES OF THE DJ'S ON THE BACK OF THE ALBUMS. I MAY HAVE MENTIONED THIS IN A PREVIOUS POST BUT JOHNNY DONOVAN WHO LATTER WENT TO WABC WORKED AT WOR-FM. YES, THOSE WERE THE DAYS.
