Not the point. Radio executives don't care what music they play. They'd play Gregorian chants if they thought that gave them the best chance to sell the most advertising at the highest rates.

It's the advertisers who aren't interested in the 50+ listeners.

No one doubts there's a market for "older" music, as PBS found out with the success its oldies fundraisers have had. But the advertisers don't think it's effective to aim their messages at that audience.

Radio follows the money. If your clientele wants steak, why open a sushi restaurant?
