For $269 I'd want a radio that can pick up WCBS-FM from here -- Schuylkill County PA -- and I'd expect no less than Joel Hollander to install it for me.

Agreed, that's a pretty steep price to pay to hear one station, and a version that's either not completed yet or is a knockoff.

The only HD in these parts is an announcement that comes from one or two of the WRTI Philly translators: 'Now broadcasting in HD,' which I'm sure has no meaning to 99% of their listeners. I don't know any other FMers in this region which do, do not, or plan to use HD.

Now, a hunnert bucks for such a swell radio with several choices off the beaten, eroded marketing path? Yeah. Maybe. They gotta bring the price down, though, one way or the other. We've got scads of music here at ol' Seaplane Harbour through computer, and more coming in. If I have to pay to hear some good stuff, yeah, okay. But Even $100 is a ridiculously high amoungt to hear 'You've Lost That Lovin Feeling' or 'More Today Than Yesterday'.
