Subject: Oldies in Portland Oregon

I just read in Radio and Records that CBS Radio has put oldies back on the radio in Portland Oregon.

Although the staff was let go from the previous format and they are running without jocks at the moment, I find this interesting.

They admitted that a hole existed in the market and they could fill it with oldies from the 60s and 70s.

The same company that would dump the format in New York and Chicago put the concept on in Portland. I think a bigger hole exists for a larger population in the tri state area that has not been served since June of last year because at present we do not have a full time outlet for this format.
