thats gutting to hear bout your wifes car, typical of insurance companys,
i agree , send boys round to sort out boyracer,
Bills got experience of that,
the snake who stole our car from outside house while back now, coppers made mistake of telling us who it was,
and his dad works with billy,
boy racer all brave and showing off to our daughter, succeding in provocking billy,
luckily with our car recently we had , the insurance company helped us straight away, tho the car had to be scrapped,
we had lush vectra, silver, i loved it,
we went to get our son from gatwick airport and at reading the cam belt went, aarrrrrrrrrrrgh,
billy was having right panic on,
ended up he went and hired a car,(thru insurance) and him and sons girlfriend went on to pick up our son,
i had to come home in break down truk with stranger!!!!!!!
anyway,
the angels were watching us , cos now we managed to get a hyundai coupe, it nice, but dark blueish purple ish, which i hate,(colours important to a girl) but at least it wont get left at traffic lights, (also important to this girl)

Hi all, good to see you're still posting away Jules. Been busy recently with one thing and another. Thought i'd relax by building a website, what a laugh that was, the original hosting company I had was a joke (to be polite)
Bought the missus a new car, then some boy racer wrote it off by hitting her head on, funny how insurance companies take your money on time but are very slow at getting it paid out een when you are in the right, but apart from that, its been quiet here in sunny Shropshire.

Ladies and gents,
There will be a 10 (Assaye) Bty reunion held on Thorney island on the 3rd of October 2010!
The day will be in the form of a familys day with food, bar and events for children then an evening function for all serving and ex serving members of the mighty 10 with food, bar and entertainment. Timings for the day will be confirmed closer the event.

Watching tv last night see programe The force or Police,
it was late and i cant remember the title,
but Les Leithes was working in Portsmouth as Detective,
they were investigating a real nasty case ,
but impressed how proffessional they dealt with it, tho it turned out it was a bit questionable as to the victims actual situation, they dealt with it in a sympathetic, and professional manner, (wouldnt expect anything less from a 10 bty guy tho)
we were sat there and Bill exclaimed 'look who that is, ' (im a lady and thats bit politer than the words that were added, lmao)

went to the armed forces day today in cardiff bay
bill said he wondered if any of you guys would attend
would of been nice to see some old faces, well i mean familiar faces, you know what i mean as i dig my self a huge hole here

what a great day,
brilliant march they did in this heat,
then they had service right in main part of the bay where it sheltered so hotter, and poor lads i did feel sorry for them,
the vetrans were well thought of
and looked after,
enjoyed look round the tanks'
ok i know theynot called tanks, they got specific names ,
and i didnt be all girly and wana go on them,,
just walked by,
challenger was there, i know that name,
ha,
well missed seeing anyone we knew, from way back when the days were the 80s,

yeh Evos fine , hes laying sleep on sofa at moment after a boozy barbeque at our daughters house,
he was absolutely bolloxed i can tell you,

cant believe 10 bty had farewell parade in tenby 10th june
the mayoress (who shares my name) spoke of the 3 decades 10 bty have visited tenby,
however , it has come to an end now as 10 bty have other commitments, and other arrangements,
(details too detailed for me to add cos my memory rubbish)
they marched thru the town and were joined by veterans of iraq and other conflicts,
how lovely other vets didnt know

Petition is in need of signatures
Bill Shaw was one of the finest British Soldiers I ever met.
He was brave, loyal, fair minded and honourable. He rose through the ranks to become a commissioned officer working for the British Embassy in Kabul and didn’t enjoy diplomatic protection, he has bee caught up in a saga of childish political retribution and the fundamental corruption endemic in Afghanistan.
In a parody of justice he was recently sentenced to imprisonment in a medieval Kabul prison.
Where is the government support for his Human rights?
There is none and it makes me extremely angry.
Evidently, good men like him don’t count.
I would plead for public support in signing an online petition for his release.

William Shaw must be released and repatriated immediately; the thus far lackluster actions of the Foreign Office in allowing this miscarriage of justice to have progressed to this stage in the first case can be addressed when he is safely back home.

prefer the shortened version, it friendlier,
you must have good job kenny if you can use puter in work,
i just got in from work, walking round and up and down the dispensary all day,
busy busy, on puter lableing up prescriptions, then dispensing said prescriptions, taking phone calls, and god help us if we aint had script from doctors for stroppy variety of customers/patients, they throw right wobbler,
well thats my day,
it did start with visit from daughter and her baby boy, after playgrooup run with little lady, so that was a good start, a cwtch with babes,
just like his bampi, happy sleeping, lol
tho at moment bampis in work, makes a change on friday evening, lazy git,

Dear all,
This website is becoming more and more obsolete as more and more people sign up for socialising websites such as Facebook. The majority of people on Facebook access it at least twice a week (if not more) so it makes sense to use it as a means of keeping in touch with each other. To that end I have created a Group on Facebook called 10 (Assaye) Battery, please feel free to join us on there.
I created the group so that we have an alternative means of keeping in touch, plus you will have more flexibility in adding pictures, events, discussion etc. I know that not everyone is on Facebook but the majority are. If you are not on Facebook maybe it is time you were! Come on take the plunge you know it makes sense.
This does not mean that the website will close. The way I see it is that Facebook will be used by Elephants Past, Present, Future, their Friends and Families, where as the website (www.assaye.co.uk) is used predominately for the old and bold (Ex members and Mrs Evo ;-)).

morning all on this rainy day, well its always dull in newport, lol
i trust you are all cheery now januarys over,
day off today and yesterday,
dont think boss is happy, but whats new,
plus i get to annoy bill being home allday coughing and barking before he goes to work tonight, lmao
anyone have any trouble with all the snow we had,?
Bill managed to put the car off the road all over xmas new year,
he cleared the snow and ice off car to meet me one evening from work, and the car slid into front of our house,
he claims he was no where near it at time, !!!!!
well after he dreamed of a newer car (how fickle) they managed to fix our lovely vectra, and its now back up and running well,(fingers crossed),
its been while since i came on here,

just back from a bit of time away with the wife and kids( we all have our crosses and all that ) and just when you think its safe what happens Tony Hawks. You go away you think far enough and bloody 10 bty follow you. No it was good to see him and I dont mean cos he was half naked in the pool. hope every one is ok, cold gone now(It was a bit touch and go for a bit though).

Yes I agree with all of you that seem to complain about the amount of NON useage from former bty members. Its a shame when someone has taken the trouble to set this up and it only gets used when there has been a piss up. Although I have been one of them. I also work shifts, early from 01.30hrs 12hrs,& lates from 10.30hrs however my piont is that I still take time to check the site, so my message to you all is 'write something', you never know when you need some info from a mate or even the wifes. so come on Nelly's DON'T GO DRY.

Bills tried to revive his football skills last couple of weeks,
trouble is he trying to keep up with our 18 year old lad who been joining in too , well encouraged bill to go along too, group of work collegues of evos,
trouble is you reach mid 40s and it all a bit weaker by then isnt it,
this week muscle in leg pulled , week before ankle injury,
dont think he should try a 3rd time meself, but you men wont let your pride be beat,
even if 18 year old can kick your butt,
well
anyway gotta go before i hurt me ribs laughing anymore,

Because of the amount of spam on this forum I have changed the setting so that all posts require authentication (hopefully I have set it up correctly, only time will tell). Once you have posted a post please be patient it will appear on the forum as soon as I get the time to authenticate it.
I will look into other option/forums in the near future.

I like you like to know what's going on with the old(and I do mean old)git's from my time in the 80's and its a shame that more of them dont log on to and use this site more than it get's used.I bet they all log on and use face ache or the other trendy media. (God that was a very big word and way to trendy for me to be using).Hope to hear from you soon and lets hope that some of the others start to get a bit more involved with the site.If we loose it I'm sure people will wonder why it's gone.

I sit at a computer all day or night when Im at work and when Im not here I try to keep clear of them( doesent always work as one or other of the kids wants me to look at something or other or do something or other for them on the pc). Can i just say how very very very miffed Iam that I missed the Tenby tour of duty. Im not in the least pleased that you all went and the time I dont go you all had (a) a good time and (b) and this is the killer the weather you absolute bunch of lucky lucky B&*£$%~S. Just got back from the Lakes so apologies for the delay.
What a great weekend. Some particular thank you's.
Gordy for keeping this website going 'cause without it we wouldn't keep in touch as much and for suggesting the weekend on here in the first place,
Si Watts for taking the time and trouble to organise the free beer and food in the Sun,
Tiny for keeping the free loaders at bay and thanks again to Moggie for the BBQ at Penally and the welcome from the 12 Bty Lads.
It was a great weekend made even better by seeing some old (and I mean Old)faces and good to see the wives there who are always welcome as they were as much a part as the 10 Bty that I remember in Hohne as we were though I don't think your rooms got inspected as often as ours.
Look forward to the next one.
By the way she said Yes and it looks like 2 years time tbc on these pages.

I have just received a phone call for Sgt (Si) Hayward informing me that the proposed 10 Bty reunion which was due to be held on 26 Sep 09 has been cancelled/postponed due to a conflict in dates (not 36 reunion). If anyone wants to take issue with this then please contact the Bty direct (contact details will be supplied on request).
