This is not the 1st time I realized this. It's just that I hadn't ridden my '98 XII for any distance for awhile. So it was a pleasure to face about a 2 & 1/2 hr ride to the meeting in Manteca last Saturday. The temperature was a bit too low (until I get off the dime & finally rig up some electrical outlets for my heated gear), but what a pleasure in spite of that!
The Voyager is so easy to ride & powerful, I kept thinking, now, why I don't I do this more often? To keep up with the I-580 traffic I cranked it up to 80, set the cruise, & just sort of "floated" into Manteca. What a hoot!
I came back by my more usual route: south down the Valley & Pacheco Pass west. Just had to stop at Pea Soup Andersen's for a hot cup of the green stuff plus a cup of hot chocolate. That hit the spot except that I was tempted to pour one of them down my boots to thaw my toes!
