Hi, Tony;
I'm looking for a CB too, and like you, cannot afford the price of the stock Clarion (even if I could find one!!) I'm leaning toward a unit that has the controls in the mic (I think Radio Shack carrys one, and I think Cobra does too.) You can mount the unit in your fairing, and unplug the mic when you're not using it, and it would be practically invisible Some guys on the AVA Forum have had good luck with them (I think that Barry, the LSV Prez, has this setup). Prices are cheap, too...around 100.00 for the unit. Good luck!!
