I really have no way of communicating with her father. And I am not sure he would be receptive to some stranger off the net telling what is good for his daughter. I have decided to set my moral dilemma off to the side. I won't abandon her but I am going to try to steer her towards something that might be more helpful to her.
As far as me being triggered, there is a beneficial side to that believe it or not...I have stuffed crap down for so long and refused to deal with it. I have directed my attention away from me and towards others in an effort to not have to deal with it. Some days I honestly think that I have come full circle in the healing process and that it is now my place to help others do it. But then something she says triggers that part of me that has been shushed for so long and I HAVE to deal with it. So it is kind of symbiotic in a way. I would love to forget and never have to revisit this stuff but that would me not ever talking to other survivors and even then there would not be any guarantee that something else wouldn't bring it up. I won't give up what I do here on line. I get alot out of it and hopefully I give a little back in return. I am going to keep trying to help her, just remain aware that this stuff really DOES have an impact (I think it's her age that triggers me the most)and try to keep myself safe in the meantime.
