Miss Earth 2008's Welcome Message
I am thrilled and ecstatic to meet all of you very soon, and share with you not just the experiences and beauty of Miss Earth but of my country also. I know many of you have already corresponded with me about some of your concerns, so I wanted to take this opportunity to reach out to those I have yet been fortunate enough to meet. I will boast that if you let it, being both delegates and visitors to the Philippines can be a wonderful and memorable experience for yourselves. If you have any concerns or questions to ask please feel free to email me at anytime i would be more than happy to help out wether it be about Miss Earth or the Philippines. This year Im not only your Miss Earth but a host as well, so I hope I can assist all of you with anything you may need.

I wish all you the best of luck ladies and I cant wait to meet you all soon!

How important is winning the Miss Earth crown to you? Why?

"First of all, I want to say that I’m feeling very privileged that I will represent my country and myself at the Miss Earth pageant; to be one of the women who are trying to help our environment, is one of the best things I can imagine. The Miss Earth pageant is one of the biggest beauty pageants in the whole world. But the thing that makes this the most beautiful pageant is that it stands for a cause for the environment. It’s true, the whole world has beautiful women, but when we can use beauty to improve our environment, why shouldn’t we do that? Beauty begins from the inside. When you have a good heart, are honest and be caring for your environment and your loved ones, you are very beautiful. For me the Miss Earth crown is very important. I know that I will do more than my best to represent the Miss Earth title and with full commitment I will try to bring a message to the whole earth. As I have said before, it’s not difficult to contribute to our environment. For me it’s important that everyone realizes it. I definitely think that the Miss Earth crown will help me send this message to the whole world." Sabrina Anijs, Dutch representative to Miss Earth 2009 pageant
