Date Posted: Sun, 30 Mar 2008, 11:04:55

With only one time trial on satauday because of rain on and off, prescott raceway had three cars make it into the 16 car runoff, pinks picked a 9:80 field I think it was, Casey Nichols with a new paint job, James Camp, and Rod Whitmore blue mopar. Things started off with Whitmore and Camp rolling out first to be the first pair down the track, Camp said Rod got a small lead of about a fender and held on it all the way, close but no cigar for Camp, remember Camp car is a no/E car and had no transbrake, talking to Rod his car runs something like a 5.13 gear I think he told me, Camp was using a 3.73 gear to run the quarter mile. Nichols had a good run but got beat, just by a small amount, really could not see his race very well because of standing room only. The place was packed, anyway to get to finals and not take anything form Whitmore, Rod won two more rounds and got to the finals. Rod won the first race beating I think a luv or S-10 truck, next round the truck won the race, the truck looked like it was more set up for the quarter mile, seemed to come on strong on the top end, anyway the truck did the same in the next race, winning the finals in the two of three shoot out rounds, all I can say is this the way I saw it, and and remember it, it was about 11:30 at nite and my big azz was very worn out, I had been at the track since Thursday. Also hats off to Steve Pennington who set low et and got I think $500 for it at 7.98 at 169 mph in the red probe, David Nichols the red mustang racer I would say got 2nd place in the wheelie show, the car left hard got up pretty good then started going left close to the wall, had to lift and bring it back getting up on two wheels again but it was the right side front and rear off the track, everything ok on his car. the guy that won the wheelie show looked like all four tires came off the ground, looked like he blowed out the right front tire, had to be pushed off the track, the standing room only crowd went wild. A lot more to tell but I'm gone, prescott racers you made us VERY HAPPY. later

To Prescott Racing Family-

As you have probably heard by now, My husband, Ricky Hayes will no longer be working at Prescott Raceway. He received a phone call from Larry Boardman yesterday, stating he had a couple things to discuss with Rick.

1) My Daughter Tricia was no longer allowed down at Prescott Raceway. Ricky asked why and Larry said Kathy doesn't want her there.

2) Jakob, my grandson, is no longer allowed at Prescott either.

Rickys response to Larry was if my family can't come to Prescott Raceway, I can't work there.
I have received several phone calls today saying that Larry was calling everyone to tell his side of the story which was that the reason Jake was no longer allowed is because he was unsupervised, got into people's trailers uninvited and was running wild.
I want to apologize to any race family he has bothered. Rick has stated that Jake has always let him know where he was going and generally it was another jr. family racer.
Jake has been raised at that track since birth when Cindy and Steve owned it. We have taught him that the track and fellow racers were our second family as we have always felt ourselves. We hate that this has been taken from him at the age of 9.
Any racers that has had a problem with him please let us know so we can apologize personally.Rick loved his job and everyone that came with it. We will miss everyone there greatly.
We will keep you all in our prayers.

Just some info about the Pinks race at RRR, If you doubled entered in the same name it will be good for one entry only, the second entry will be dropped, even if somebody else was going to drive the second entry, anyway somebody needs to call Clay Selig and get him to read the new info at RRR. maybe more that are in this boat, but did see his name as a double entry, it tells why on the RRR board, don't forget about Prescott's banquet this weekend the 26 of January at Bauxite

Just setting here wondering how the "last minute race team" and the "E" family are doing, never hear from them, just wondering if that old black diesel is still running, and if little "e" jr has turned into a race car yet. Guess I will have to wait until about spring to find out, the old diesel may need tires by now, might want to get Colton some wheelie bars for the golf cart for Christmas and get Cameron a bigger trophy case. I guess the jr. fumes finally got to big "E", or he maybe trying to put that jr. motor in Katie's golf cart, you never know! anyway HO HO HO to everybody.
