The level of over indulgences in hollyweird has been around for ages. Look at all those gift bags during the Oscars for movie star incentives. And, what about the gallons of champagne that is poured during such events. Rumor mills of course will always be abound and circulate around movie stars, their private and public lives, habits good or bad. The fashion police even give us a breakdown on who’s the best dressed too. Oh those movie stars and royalty of the world scandalous behaviors. Would we be posting messages back and forth if they bored us? A reminder though, lets keep comments to personal opinions and not “conclusions”. Conclusions could be construed as slander and hurt a person’s reputation even if it was meant unintentional. Amy, to clarify I think you may be referring to a skin condition called "Rocasea" with the reddish tint and larger nose which has been associated with heavy drinkers. As a former esthetician, I have noticed pink undertones to Val’s skin in many photos including reddish cheeks, but nothing to varify or suggest he has Rocasea. His skin coloring, facial and nose features look normal for his age, Ah, but the blush looks good on him, and more so in person. So in my opinion, lets break out the mood rings for all of us lol. I ran across a photo of Val somewhere on the web the other day, a recent picture, and saw something I had not noticed before... His nose looks bigger, lol, don't laugh
That combined with the reddish tint I have seen in his cheeks in un-makeuped photos recently tells me... He's got an alcohol problem... I have seen it far too often. I know I am reaching, so let me get to the point. Alcoholics like drug addicts are often thought of as un medicated cases of mental illness, drugs or alcohol being self medication. That being said, given Val's perhaps deserved perhaps undeserved reputation of being "difficult" to work with, and his obvious excellence in the arts leads me to conclude that Val has a mood disorder. HHMMMMMMMM...

Ten Commandments DVD musical comments -- ~butterfly, 00:27:23 10/18/06 Wed [5]

Last night my husband and I were able to preview “The Ten Commandments” musical on DVD. He said the critics were way to harsh on Val and the role of Moses fit him just fine on stage. We both agreed, and also thought the lady who portrayed his wife Zipporah had a smooth sweet voice which carried our attention. However, we did disagreed about the singer who portrayed Joshua. He mentioned that his singing could have been toned down, and a bit little less American Idol. I thought just the opposite and loved his singing. And of course, for those of us females whom appreciate men easy on the eyes like Val, I thought he had wonderful visual appeal on stage for the youthful romantic gals too. Not to leave the men out in the cold, there were plenty of pretty dancers to look at also. Hopefully, I have left out the spoilers for those whom have not seen this version of The Ten Commandments. The musical was beautifully done and worth getting a copy for DVD collections, but nothing beats seeing the performances live. You can now also order this DVD combined with Chicago.

I was walking around in a store. I saw a cashier hand this little boy his money back saying "I'm sorry, but you don't have enough money to buy this doll." Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ''Granny, are you sure I don't have enough money?'' The old lady replied: ''You know that you don't have enough money to buy this doll, my dear.''Then she asked him to stay there for 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly. The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand.Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to. "It's the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for t his Christmas. She was so sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her." I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus will bring it to her after all, and not to worry. But he replied to me sadly. "No, Santa Claus can't bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there." His eyes were so sad while saying this. "My sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister.''My heart nearly stopped. The little boy looked up at me and said: "I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the m all." Then he showed me a very nice photo of him where he was laughing. He then told me "I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won't forget me." "I love my mommy and I wish she doesn't have to leave me, but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister." Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. "What if we checked again, just in case you do have enough money?''"OK" he said "I hope that I have enough." I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.The little boy said: "Thank you God for giving me enough money!" Then he looked at me and added "I asked yesterday before I slept for God to make sure I have enough money to buy this doll so that mommy can give it to my sister. He heard me!''"I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn't dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose.''"My mommy loves white roses."A few minutes later, the old lady came again and I left with my basket. I finished my shopping in a totally different state from when I started. I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind. Then I remembered a local newspaper article 2 days ago, which mentioned of a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car, where there was one young lady and a little girl. The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life-assisting machine, because the young lady would not be able to recover from the coma. Was this the family of the little boy? Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the newspaper that the young lady had passed away. I couldn't stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was exposed for people to see and make last wishes before burial. She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest. I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed forever. The love that this little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to this day, hard to imagine. And in a fraction of a second, a drunk driver had taken all this away from him.

Hi

I miss posting messages to everyone, but there was a recent shake up at work so I haven't been able to lately. Nor have I been able to respond to any emails.
Reasons being: One of my co-workers ended up in jail and was then let go where I work which threw off some of our work schedules including mine. I ended up working 12 hour shifts, yuck. Absolutely no fun. I might blog about it in my online line journal later on another website and vent. For now I’m still cooling off and catching up on lost sleep. And unfortunately, there hasn’t been any time to watch movies lately either. I was able to catch part of Ridley’s Scott’s “Kingdom of Heaven” with Orlando Bloom on HBO at work though, and thought it was good. Ebert and Roeper give it two thumbs up!

Do you think Val's new found "inner peace" is him mellowing with age or has he just learned to bite his tounge? Both?
I mean, I saw Howard Dean's rant, live. I saw Tom C. juming on oprah's couch as it aired, and while both were kinda out there (especially T.C.) I didnt think a whole lot of either at the time, or what the fall out would be. Imagine having one moment in time, one act, debase your character or ruin your career. "I did not have sexual relations with that woman." Wow, I cant imagine the control it takes to not be labled as a nut job, or morally bankrupt. What do you think?

I mean they are going to new levels of odd.....About your question I think Val has mellowed out, maybe being a father did that. Or maybe he was not so bad in the first place, and some people in Hollywood made up some things for the press. I have been working on piece of music the "Te Deum"written be a 13 year old Mozart. I am listening to "Der Fliegende Hollander" Overture-"The Flying Dutchman"Overture. I first viewed "The Lord of the Rings" by way of Wagner's Ring Cycle. If one adds the hobbit book to the Lord trilogy one would have the full ring cycle. Later this year, many choirs will be "Handeling" "The Messiah."

- Meth is a huge problem for those of us in AR, OK & MO. Lack of money for law enforcement, lower incomes and an abundance of rural settings all contribute I think. Before we moved last year the house across the street was seized in a Meth raid. We used to lay in bed and night and watch ppl come and go through the alley, stop for a few minutes, then leave. A man was beaten with a baseball bat in their front yard one night. And the girl that was living there with her boyfriend, had her 2 month old baby die. It was a horrible place to have to live. I understand that idea, however, there some people that I never dreamed of reconnecting after a twenty year gap. Back in 1998 I received a TV VCR which opened a new door for old acquaintences and new ones like Val and Tom;eight years later and getting stronger.
Family mail comes in every Christmas from cousins in Wisconsin. Just recently I connected with some one who has been waiting for some time. Recent acquaintences are rapidly becoming close friends.
However, for me, the best kind of friends are the kind that let me relax in my robe on the sofa of shame, degradation ,and sloth and not care.

Cicada Wargames

Every summer hordes of Cicadas (large noisy locusts) invade the south. The perch in trees, hedges, and brush and sing their hearts out, mating call I think. They molt and leave an entire intact exoskeleton behind, these are fun to pick up and hang on your shirt like a morbid lapel pin.
Late one July evening Sam and I are watching tv and the cicadas outside our picture window are at it. Several sound like your neighbor is using a skill saw. Sam gets up, hes had it, on his way out the door he snatches the bag of Jordan Almonds I had been picking at. He locates the spot in a hedge making the most noise and lets fly. Crack! The almond zings through the hedge and hits the house behind it. Quiet, ah, at last thank god. Then 3 inches over the locust starts up again. Crack! Another nut zings through the hedges to hit the house. Again a moment of silence, and then the bug starts up anew another 3 inches over. This elicits from the big man a rapid fire sequence of nuts into the hedge. But again the cicadas are undaunted and start up louder than ever. Defeated Sam shakes his head. But wait he has an idea. He dissapers around the house and comes back shortly with..... The garden hose. With a smug look he unleashes the full force of the water into the hedge, sorry bastards, he'll teach them. After a good soaking and a moment of observation the 6'5" 360 man heads indoors triumphant. He came he saw he conquered. Just as hes about to step into the house, trillllllllll, quiet at first then louder and louder. He comes indoors head hanging, out of ideas, and completely disgusted. Cicadas one, big man zip.....

Hi all

Last month I spend some time in Paris and took the opportunity to visit Jim Morrisons grave at the Pére Lachaisse cemetry.

His grave is almost at the back of the cemetry, amid much larger graves. The graves are not put in in a very ordely matter. There are sometimes up to 6 rows one after the other and all are agains one another. You have to actually step on the front ones to get to the middle or back graves.

J Morrisons grave itself does not look anything like the original did. As you know the bust was stolen in March 1988.
The grave itself has also been changed, because of to much damage. Now it is just durt in the middle, with a new headstone.

On the other hand his grave is the most visited of the entire grave yard and the only one with a permanent guard.

I took some photo's, hopefully I will be able to post them.

Those people are all looking at Jims grave.

I just read an article on the yahoo main page about Tom Cruise leaving Paramount Studios. One theory was that the movie company is planning a new direction. I am too close to the industry, thru the fan pages of Val,but the viewing public must not be too happy with the industry as a whole. Also the price of gas may be an added factory, here in AZ popcorn and candy are taxed.
Fortunately I can slip into an afternoon matinee, $5.75, and combine it with errands, but for a family of four the prices can get steep as some of you know about and have experienced it first hand. Are there any other opinions?!

- Ok inside POV - the box office dollar is pretty tight, we hear a lot about films that break into the hundreds of millions at the box office, but the reality is for every one that booms there are HUNDREDS of films that bust. To release a film in Nth America costs a minimum of US$20M (up to US$40M for a blockbuster) for prints and advertising, then the exhibitors take their share/fee about 35%, sales agents 15-25% etc etc. Stars now want to see a backend fee from the box office gross - that means they are getting the front end slice BEFORE any of the bills are paid eg P&A, production costs etc. As a producer I know I am fed up with even small actors asking 5-10% of the gross Box Office - so you can imagine what a big name star will ask eg 20-30% of the gross!!!! As an independent producer - it sucks, since it's such a battle to get a studio to look at your project - I am lucky since I have Disney/BVI working with me now on one - but that's after nearly 3 years of slogging it on my own with a writer whom I cant pay - just for the love of a good story.     - ROTFLOL - although I think some of Tom's films are fun (eg Risky Buisness, Interview with a Vamp) or ok viewing - I find that after having watched a couple, they all run with the same formula, and same performance - and become highly predictable. Although - I thought Minority Report was kinda wild - but I just really like the premise - but definitely one of those movies you have to be paying attention to - particularly since I didnt see it in English!!! Although some setups - you could see where they were going eg the tramp who had lost his eyes early in the pic - you knew that was a setup for Tom having to get his eyes/retina replaced - but overall good sci-fi. It's good to read all the posts from everyone. Lately, it sure has been very rainy here in the desert southwest where I live. So I have been indoors and did alittle leisure web surfing. Last night I came across this link to share and was finally able to post it today. It has many Val Kilmer miscellaneous clips from behind the scenes of "Wonderland" and plenty of clips from the movie “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang”, “Tombstone”, "Doors," "Heat", "MindHunter" and "Played" too. There is no question the public, paparazzi, and video camera spies can be intrusive towards famous individuals, however I would be lying if I stated that I wasn’t interested in the clips which included Val at a trendy hollywood night spot and the clip with him reading from Science and Health which was titled as an infomercial. This does not look like an infomercial to me at all and I think you will agree as Val starts reading….

Ever have one of those nights and you can't sleep because insomnia wants the best of you? I have to wonder what forces in nature or the universe are calling when that happens. The body is tired, but is the mind still active by such forces? Maybe people should listen to the invisible calling. I don’t always share my point of view on such matters. However, last night I had that happen to me and kept tossing and turning unable to sleep. Sure I wanted to, but couldn’t with insomnia beating me to a pulp. Maybe it was due to the hot weather outside keeping the air conditioner on and making noise, or it could have been due to a dream of Val Kilmer which I awoke to earlier. Either or, I couldn't sleep and got out of bed and walked into our kitchen for something to drink only to find myself startled by my son, who was illuminated by a small night light in the darkness and sitting at the table drinking a glass of water. Very surprised, I asked why he was up. And he replied “I couldn’t sleep, it’s to hot in my room and needed something to drink”. I was thinking how ironic, feeling the same thing. I then got something to sip on and checked the air conditioner. The temperature in the house said a mild 75 degrees. After that, we went outside and a light breeze was blowing with a few rain drops falling here and there. It was slightly muggy, but cool with the breeze. So we sat down on the front porch swing and started talking. We noticed how everyone else in the neighborhood was sleeping and felt like the only ones awake at such a weird hour. Our dog kept trying to interrupt our conversation by jumping in between us on the swing and wanting pet. We pushed her off a few times and finally she got the message to lay down on the porch by our feet. My son then started telling me about one of his dreams and how he stole a mini cooper car that was bright orange with a black stripe down it. In his dream, the car then changed into a Porsche. We laughed, then I told him about dreaming of Val earlier. The dream seem to parallel the recent article of his new tree house. Oddly enough, I was there with Val and told him I had the answer about himself which he was seeking. I then followed him outside the tree house with about eight feet distance in between us. Once we were away from the tree house, he put a lit cigarette in my mouth and then one in his. And there we were smoking. Crazy as it seems, I instantly felt relaxed from it though. In the dream I could also taste the cigarette too, non menthol something much like a Marlboro red. You maybe wondering how I could tell, but I use to smoke and once in a blue moon I might still have one. But that is rare occasion, especially losing my step dad who smoked two packs a day and died from cancer. I then woke up, and told my son the answer I had for Val. He looked at me as we sat there swinging slowly back and forth last night in the gentle breeze and said, "yeah mom, like Neo he can either choose to take the red pill and accept what he is about to hear from you or take the blue one and wake up in his bed and think it was all just a dream.” We laughed again as I thought what is this the Matrix now. We then went back inside and I said say your prayers before you go back to bed. And while walking back to his bedroom he said “Sweet Dreams” to me. I smiled and went to my room on that note. Amazingly, we slept like babies after that with no problem. Perhaps talking with some one you care about vise versa is sometimes all it takes to cure insomnia. But what about the answer I have for Val that I dreamed about and told my son in private while swinging....

Will it be the red pill or the blue?

Better than none at all, there are some collector items including photos and movie scripts signed by Val on ebay as "buy now". Val is shown signing the items too, very cool. Looks as if they were taken in June.

  - Hey There Tears!!! It's awesome hearing from you. Hope all is well. Loved your post. I haven't seen Pirates yet, but can't wait. We did buy the Kiss Kiss Bang Bang DVD with Robert Downey Jr. and Val Kilmer. There were some funny noir moments in the film and in my opinion they should team up again soon. I would love to see them in another flick but have more of a Jackie Chan, Owen Wilson type comedy script. You know something so funny it makes your stomach hurt from laughing to much.
