Subject: TCM scifi for Sept

A few good scifi movies on in Sept if you have TCM or a neighbor with access to it.

Sept 5 Forbidden Planet 1956 a classic for the time

Sept 10 From the Earth to the Moon '58 movie J Verne based

Sept 19 Metropolis 1927 silent classic

Sept 19 Things to Come 1936 Fine acting by Raymond Massey

Sept 29 Man from Planet X 1951 Best low budget SF to me

Notes: 3 or 4 scifi/horror-monster flicks run after Sept 6ths "I Married a Witch" same day! (I recommended latter movie on horror site.) Check the Sept. TCM schedule and your local listings, zones. etc. There's also one I'm going to try and check on Sept 22...sounds like a Zone type episode...at 8 am Eastern, called Between Two Worlds w/J.Garfield, 1944. (I really enjoy Zone stuff and Outer Limits.)

A great lineup from TCM for September. Forbidden Planet has long been one of my favorites. Walter Pidgeon, Anne Francis, Leslie Nielsen and Robby the Robot. The forbidden planet of the title was once inhabited by the highly advanced Krell civilization. Beware of the "monsters of the id."

Things to Come used to be fairly easy to find on VHS, so I have seen it numerous times. Although it's dated, it is still a fascinating early foray into the science fiction genre. A fantastic performance by Raymond Massey.
