Registration is now open at www.feisworx.com for the 2013 Kansas City Feis!

Our feis is held on Labor Day weekend (August 31, 2013 this year) in conjunction with the HUGE KC Irish Festival. Please visit the festival website www.kcirishfest.com for the entertainment schedules as well as other information about all the activities going on that weekend. 2 festival tickets are included with each paid night stay at the onsite hotels.

All dance competitions take place inside the Westin Crown Center Hotel. The hotel is connected to the Crown Center shopping area with a multitude of shops and restaurants. There is also the newly opened SeaLife Aquarium and Legoland Discovery Center as well as the FREE Hallmark Visitors Center and Kaleidoscope (a place where kids can use their imaginations to create unique artwork). The KC Feis understands that traveling to and attending a feis can be costly and we appreciate you choosing to come to Kansas City. We will split grade competitions when they reach 20 paid dancers so that more dancers can experience success.

Our championship competitions will be awarded Belleek prizes as well as SASHES for the top three in each age group. In addition, the the Helen Mahurin Perpetual Trophy dance off is held at the end of the feis for PC and OC competitors who place in the top 3 in U15 and older age groups.

The Kansas City Feis is VERY pleased to offer 2 $1000 college scholarships to eligible dancers. Please visit the scholarship information page on our website for more information as well as the application. The deadline for applications is August 1!

Colorado Irish Festival Feis question -- mom, 17:44:54 05/14/13 Tue [8]
We'll be traveling & might be able to make it to this feis. I'd love it if you could give me some information about what to expect. From last years results it looks like the numbers are pretty small. Is that just because it's at a festival?

- No idea about NY, but there are not usually feiseanna in the LA-OC area at that time of December. Closest in time is the Feile Na Nollaig, which per NAFC is set for Dec. 7 and 8 in Indian Wells (Palm Springs area). (NT) -- Sorry, all!, 22:18:19 05/13/13 Mon

  - I don't think there's anything ridiculous about hoping to find out some basic schedule information, such as what day your child will dance, one month before a feis, particularly when it falls on Father's Day weekend. There may be people traveling to this feis because it's so close to Nationals, and I'm sure they'd be grateful to know what days they have to be at the venue so they can make travel and accommodation plans. Just a reminder to register and pay for The Grand Canyon State Feis by Friday the 17th to avoid a late fee of $20. You will still be able to change your entries after the 17th without a late fee but registrations must be paid. We have many special events planned for the family. Friday night join us for a live Ceili Band, Saturday night will feature a live DJ Poolside with a dinner buffet. Dance Out For Jane DC Michelle Lewis Dress RAFFLE -- DOFJDCRaffle, 08:00:11 05/09/13 Thu [4]
On May 5, 2013, the Washington, DC area Irish Dance schools hosted Dance out For Jane DC at four different locations. The events raised in excess of $10,000 so far. As part of our fund raising effort, we were able to secure an Irish dance dress graciously donated by Mrs. Michelle Lewis (Lewis Irish Dresses http://www.lewisirishdresses.com/). We established a raffle the winner of which will be announced on May, 26, 2013 at the conclusion of the CCE Feis in Emmitsburg, MD.

In today�s economy, I am sure that the opportunity to participate in the raffle will be mutual advantageous! I would like to emphasize that this is not a fundraiser benefiting any Irish Dance School. One hundred percent (100%) of the money collected will go to the Richard Family Fund.

- Yes, if you do not stay in one of the four contracted hotels within the Irish Dance room block, you will be charge a $100 per person per day entrance fee. If you stay within the blocks you will received your wristbands which will give you access to the competitions. The vendors are usually in an area where wristbands are not required.     - If you have already entered the park and are returning, you may have to wait for a short while for some people to leave. This has happened to us over the Christmas/New Years holidays.   - You can't buy FastPasses. The FastPasses are issued in the park by machines next to some of the most popular rides. They're free. You just go to the machine, put in your admission ticket, and it spits out a Fast Pass that gives you quicker entry within a certain time frame during the day. (NT) -- HTH, 21:13:51 05/01/13 Wed
    - But you can only have one Fast Pass at a time. You can't just go around and collect Fast Passes and then ride all the rides at a later time. You have to wait until your Fast Pass expires before you can get one for another ride. On busy days, the Fast Passes for the popular rides are way in advance (like if you pick one up at 11am you might not be slated to come back to ride until 5pm or even later) so you wouldn't be able to get another Fast Pass until 5pm.         They have discontinued those passes. And you now you can only use the pass during the timeframe printed on the ticket....you can't return anytime after the printed expiring....this is new, we were there the end of March. Cars land will sell out of fast passes within the first 2 hours of opening, but if you get on of those, you can immediately get another fast pass, they don't count that one.
