Just saw the thing about Gabby C 'retiring' at 6yrs and we all cracked up over here because it's such a cute thing for a 6 yr old to say, but strange for an adult to rationalize with their own interpretation on a Results Board.     • Here are a couple of definitions of 'retire' that could apply to dancing; withdraw from active participation; "He retired from chess", withdraw: pull back or move away or backward; To cause to withdraw from one's usual field of activity.     • I had to take a break from dance once because i was burned out, but I hated the idea of calling it quits. I said i was on reprieve, because if I said I quit i'd start to cry! I retired a year ago, and came back because I realized I still have a lot of dancing to do. Really, there is a difference between quitting and retiring/taking a break.
