Author: You need to probe more
Subject: Given your daughter's sensitivity for raised voices I think you should probe as to what she means by "yell". I can hear my child's teacher in the waiting room when the music is on and the hard shoes are pounding as she offers feedback and suggestions. So yes, she is yelling. But she is not angry or critical beyond that one would expect from a teacher. If in fact the yelling truly is harsh criticism then its time to find a new school.
In reply to: concerned mom 's message, "My 8 year old loves Irish Dance and has been doing really well. She told me tonight that when her TCRG yells at her that she is really scary. I have had talks previously that my daughter get scared to even dance for fear of being yelled at. When she was younger, I would raise my voice and she'd cry because I "yelled" at her. Any suggestions? I don't like her feeling scared to go to dance class." on 19:44:13 09/08/17 Fri
