You can either afford to go or you can't.
How did ID get to the point where if there are less than five dancers; if it "doesn't count", then there is no reason to compete?
Feiseanna are not just competitions. They are a gathering of friends and families. They are a celebration of Irish culture. They are a chance for a dancer to do their best.
Regardless of how many are in your group, you still get to dance infront of an ADCRG and get a score and hopefully comments.
I don't know how many times I've seen 3 or 4 registered to dance and then 3 more show up the day of. I've also seen 7 registered and 4 show up. You cannot know if there will be 4 or 5 or 6 dancers in the competition on that day.

Again, you can either afford it or not. That is your choice. And yes, we all want our kids to win and advance, but you're teaching your DD that if there is no possibility of advancement there is no reason to dance. Is that really the lesson you want her to live?
