    • I would disagree. In adult PW comps there are often only 8-10 dancers total, and you must know that adult dancers cannot "move up" beyond PW. Therefore, a turn out of 8 dancers for an adult special means that every PW adult went for the competition. That's 100% participation! Certainly, you can't think that it's unnecessary? • A non ID friend asked me how many people compete in ID in the US and the world, and about what percent of these are in OC. I had no idea at all. I am guessing that about 10% are OC.   recently won a dress-coming from overseas-have sent an email asking about shipping costs-options I have etc.--been 2 days no response. Have not paid yet-so sent another email asking about dance school connection and my concern about fraud-still no response. should I be leery? seller did send an invoice immediately after auction ended-cited shipping costs-to which I promptly responded with my 1st email.

  • There have been 'issues' with ebay & ID dresses lately, hijacked pictures & auctions. The DMs have been good at catching alot of it, but they can't know every dress. I would contact ebay directly with your concerns too, so you can defend your buyer's status (NT) -- !!, 09:17:25 06/20/08 Fri
  • The sellers want the questions asked before the 'win' not after. It's just wise eBay shopping to do it that way. Ask questions, get answers first .. then bid.     • You are not correct. Questions about shipping and insurance costs can always be answered after the bidding is closed. Do it all the time! The seller should have an E-Bay profile and respond to your e-mails quickly. You should be able to confirm with the seller shipping costs, packaging and shipping method. Also insurance on the package and how the dress will be packaged. There has been some fraud issues with overseas sellers tyring to sell dresses that they do not actually posess.   • This weekend I noticed something a bit different. There was actually a small blip or skip in the hornpipe for the novice dancers. On my daughter's stage all three of them looked over at the musicians and then quick back to the front. Two of them quickly got back on time.   • But are you aware that the ballrooms are most likely comped for the feis - meaning that the school has to guarantee a number of hotel rooms occupied. The hotels tally this through those that pay the "feis rate." So while you may save a few dollars, the cost to the organizers and ultimately everyone else may be astounding (in the tens of thousands to rent ballrooms). In fact, some feis organizers are struggling to find hotels with adequate ballroom space to host feisanna, since feis don't bring in enough overnight guests or food charges to the hotel. It was never addressed & dancers were not notified. Those new to Majors, may not know it was a mistake. But,if entries are screened and validated by the NAFC and they find the only way these girls qualify is by moving to OC by May2, 2008, then yes, they must compete as OC from May 2nd on. In posts that were removed yesterday, one person said there was a change in rules and a TC can't move a dancer up without 2 prelim 1sts anymore.   This was our second year traveling to Colorado for this feis and again had an enjoyable experience.   Saturday Registration will begin at 9 am and the feis will begin at 10 am when the Irish Fair opens.
  Sunday Registration will begin at 8 am and the feis will begin at 9 am.
  
  We will start with open figures and adults on Saturday and figures and first feis on Sunday.
  Please note that the earliest dancers and their families be allowed to enter the fairgrounds on Saturday is 9 am since the fair vendors will still be setting up.
