Because ceili is the heart of irish dancing tradition. It is not just something to goof around with in class when you have some spare time. It is something to take seriously, work hard at and try to perfect. It is just an important part of irish dance as solo dancing. Anyone who fails to see that is a diva. Maybe you have personal reasons not to be on a team, whatever, but if your reasoning is teams just aren't as important as solos, then your attitude is getting in the way.   - If your TCRGs don't believe ceili dancing is important part of traditional dancing, then they must not know alot about the history of irish dance. - At our school, teams aren't as important as solos. There are no ceili classes offered at all during the year. Yet, when the "O" comes around, they haphazardly throw teams together, practice for 2 months, and then wonder why they didn't do better. Why would a dancer want to do teams under these circumstances?
