she isn't wrong. she is being sensible. I wish you luck, and hope her teachers will allow her to train just for solos -- which can be done on one class a week, if the dancer practiced on their own. there are exceptions to every rule and yours would be one of them. I'm talking about the dancers that I've known (all under college age) who think that are above dancing teams. In your case I would ask the TC. If she says that your college-age dd still has to do teams then I would say that is wrong.
