I think I'd be surprised, and very intimidated, to meet someone who "got" LC on the first reading! GofK would definitely be on my list of things to have on a desert island. (NT) --
I posted a Lymond question on the Chessboard. (NT) -- Peggy, 14:05:44 02/25/09 Wed

I was very fortunate to buy the complete set on ebay when we were first discussing GofK. And Denise has given me the Niccolo series, so I'm set! (NT) --
Can I jump back to chapter 3 for a moment (I'm currently on chapter 8....catching up). The description of Sybilla was heart rending for me. I don't know her age, but in this description, she sounds so aged and vulnerable....no wonder Lymond could not face her. He is the child of her heart, but it only seems that he brings her grief. So sad. (NT) --

I'll hijack this post to remind everyone that we will be starting our Cape Random/Random Passage discussion in 2 weeks - on March 1st. Now's the time to get your book out and review it or start reading (I'm in this last department! *g*). It's only a three week discussion, so it will go by rather quickly. But from what I've heard about this book, its wonderful and will be worth it to discuss. (NT) -- Lil, 09:23:29 02/14/09 Sat
Ugh, I finally finished the chapter of the shipwreck. The loss of Chancellor and his son was just awful. Diccon was a real person, so I read the Wiki entry on him. What a loss. I can't help but wonder why Christopher was so leery of Lymond, his reaction reminded me of the young-Philippa. Do we learn the reason later? Click Here for RICHARD CHANCELLOR on Wikipedia. (NT) --
