Subject: I finished the book last night - seems I had extra time on my hands somehow with the boards down *g*. Some things I had anticipated, as Elaine mentioned above, the ending no, though. I can't imagine shutting out your mother for all that time - way to hold a grudge! That made me very sad to think that they had missed so much in each other's lives, at least told to one another instead of second hand through Buster.

  • My heart just broke for Agnes when Dermot reacted so badly to her speech. She's always been plain-spoken with her kids and called them on their behaviour (well, except Frankie and we know how that ended), so I don't really blame Agnes here. She's obviously so distraught over the whole thing. I will admit to grinning like a fool when Sue connected Trevor and Nicky.
