Subject: Ch. 18 Q.2- she knows him well enough to see that there is something in him that she hasn't ever seen before, or rather in a way she hasn't seen before and she would understand instinctively that it was a woman. I think it says something about 'the shadow of a woman upon Jamie' and that's what she's sensing.

  • (Ch. 18, Q1) I agree with Carla. There is a deep, interdependent relationship between Sallie and Jamie. Kindred spirits. (Q2) Sallie is so keenly in tune with Jamie that I don't think it's necessary to go into detail about Pamela; Sallie can sense by his demeanor that he is haunted by a woman. (Ch. 19, Q1) Robert's great, he really appeals to me. Glad to know he'll be around in #4, too. He's a little nervous, maybe neurotic to a degree, and that's something I can identify with! (Q2) No, not in a million years. It is far too daunting a proposition for someone like me, although I'm sure Pamela can handle it deftly. (Q3) Sometimes it's okay to keep secrets, especially when you're already skating on thin ice with your spouse. All can be revealed in the fullness of time. It isn't as though Casey hasn't kept a secret or two from Pamela in the past. (NT) -- Elaine, 06:34:56 06/27/12 Wed
