Subject: (1) and (3) I never thought Jamie really ever trusted Andrei. And he purposefully kept Pamela to himself. I really think Andrei would have done something to hurt Pamela if he knew of her.

  • Q2) I had to think on this one for a bit. I think that Jamie understands the collateral damage of his bouts with manic-depressive behavior. Something he probably didn't consider earlier in his life. I think the loss of his sons, his wife and now knowing that Pamela is truly with Casey, he's seen enough to understand the value of life, relationships, love, family, etc. Maybe I'm wrong in assuming so, but I get the impression that Andrei hasn't learned this lesson. I don't know if its because he's been in the USSR and kept from the "connections" to others or if its in his personal make up. (NT) -- Lil, 09:11:10 07/01/12 Sun
  • Certainly haven't seen anything thus far to suggest that Andrei has any meaningful relationships in his life. Just look at the contrast betweeen the way he cavorts with multiple women in Italy, while Jamie has one; and that Andrei is married yet speaks openly of his girlfriend. While I'm on it, Interesting that Jamie is more concerned with Andrei naming names in front of the guards while Andrei doesn't seem to care; yes, Jamie is more circumspect because he likely understands those he loves could suffer for being connected to him, especially in that environment.
