(77/2) Yes, I sure think so. If he really resembled only his mother, I don't think either Pamela or Maggie would feel any strong sense of compassion and warmth for the man.

  • (78/1) Casey had more time with his mother and maybe had a closer relationship with her than Pat. I also think he knows something that Pat doesn't know. There is clearly something unexplained between Casey and his mother, and I'm hoping our author will elaborate at some point! (78/2) The process of building and then the final result offer measures of hope for Casey. He clings to hope tightly, almost as tightly as he treasures his family. Casey is giving his family a gift here that will remind them of him forever. There's a lot of magic in memories! The sad thing is that they don't yet realize why he needed to do this for them.
