Subject: Yes, as though now, finally, he's comfortable in his own skin. Also, I think he's 'laid himself bare' to his mother; he approaches her now with no pretense, no subterfuge. He is wholly himself in her presence, and Philippa's. There is nothing to hide, symbolically.
