Subject: I think she's been very creative and thoughtful about how to raise Jack. I would probably not been able to refrain from telling Jack about the outside world, and maybe it would have been alright for him to hear about it at an earlier age, he wouldn't have known otherwise though I understand her reasoning.

  • This is a tough question. I don't think there was any way that Ma could have prepared him for Outside. No matter what she told him. I think hope of escape went away for her for a long time and maybe speaking of something she might never see was hard. I can't even imagine being in her place.
