Subject: Q1 & 2- I've read this book twice now. The first time was a few years back, shortly after it had come out. It's haunted me both times. I'm glad my children aren't small anymore. :) Anyway, I think being a changeling is a bit like being in purgatory, you're really neither here nor there. I can see why most of them would choose to forget who they were before they became changelings, because that would just be setting yourself up for pain. I did wonder why Henry had such strong connections to his memories of Gustav, as Gustav was an idiot savant. Or maybe this was Gustav's chance to bring his music out of the shadows so to speak. For Aniday, he had been happy in his life as a boy, and they still lived so close to where his actual family was that I would think the very landscape would keep the memories there for him.
