I also nursed while I was preg. and dried up naturally.I too drank lots of water and struggled with keeping my milk up. I was drinking a homemade tea of: oat straw, nettle, alfalfa, and raspberry leaf throughout my preg. and after. It still didn't help my milk supply. My midwife told me to use alfalfa(increases milk supply) and liquid chlorophyl(increases milk supply). I now take liquid chlorophyl 1T at least 3xdy, more is good also for your iron and energy level. I will have full breasts w/i about 3 hrs after taking it. It works great.

Hi Ocean, Even though I am not a Herbalist, I try and gather various natural treatments from Midwives, etc. ..things that are healthy, helpful, safe and easy for any of us to do at home. The SCAR TISSUE TREATMENT on the C-Section page of this website has had many success stories by women who needed healing from C-sec's, severe perineal tearing during birthing or episiotomies. Here's just one story...for 7 years a women was having painful sexual intercourse with her husband because of a previous episiotomy. She was given the treatment by a midwife and within 1 month her pain was gone! Pregnant women have taken these products after a C-sec. during their next pregnancy. (Please always be sure to check with your midwife or Herbalist before taking any herb during pregnancy to be informed and have a peaceful confidence about what you take.)
Hope this helps!

Ocean, I know this isn't the question you asked, but you might want this information. I studied midwifery for awhile under Norman Casserley, also known as Mister Midwife. He has done over 3500 births. He recommends a technique of massage to prevent rupture in a subsequent VBAC. Use a gentle kneading motion like you would use on bread, over the length of the Caesarian scar (during a subsequent pregnancy) for a few minutes once or more daily. This will cause the scar tissue to form blood vessels, and the blood flowing through these will prevent rupture. The uterus has muscles running in three different directions, so there will actually be three scars because doctors don't generally cut through muscle, but only alongside it. So you will need to massage each scar. (What I don't know is how you determine where these scars are exactly, but if you can find the outermost one, it should be possible to do all three if you knead in the area of a circle of the diameter of the topmost scar). I knew a woman who had a fused tailbone, and because of this, it would not move out of the way so she could give birth. She had a C-section, and in a subsequent birth, she wanted a homebirth, so she labored awhile before giving up and accepting another C-section. She had used the massage technique. The doctor who did the C-section sais her uterus wouldn't have ruptured in a "million years".

I hope this helps.

Julie,
I'm so proud of you and what you've done here. This site is very informative and couragous. I love the information about the different herbs. I'd like to know how they look in the "wild" so I could find my own or identify what is near us.
I plan on telling Stefanie and Jamie Jo about this site.
You'all are in my thoughts and prayers. Kiss Lily, Lizabeth and Rachel for me.

Your sister in life and Christ,
Jackie

Most girls love to talk, so here it is! A place to talk about pregnacy, babies, midwifery, menopause, homeschooling, alternative treatments or whatever you would like to share or ask because someone else may have a great suggestion for you. If you have a website or email you may leave that here BUT please use some integrity and don't leave a website address if you're selling similiar products as found here. Thank You. I look forward to hearing from you.
