Subject: Actually, the poster is correct. I am not attacking nor defending. I just cannot stand to see someone called an idiot when he/she is correct! I originally had bond amounts advertised on my paperwork and had to change it because of this. Bonds can no longer be purchased at half of the face value, so if you advertise bonds, you CAN be forced to pay the full amount. The pertinent information is this: "Since January 1, 2012, paper savings bonds are no longer available at banks or other financial institutions. .....When you used to buy a paper Series EE bond, you paid half the face value for the bond.
