What's with all the SAND all over the place? Looks like NYC Parks has a beach in mind for the place. It's sad. Vegetation is gone and replaced with some pussy willows. The shore line is washing into the river. I wonder what that plan is all about. The rest of the place is mud. And the places where the water is collecting will make beautiful breeding places for this year's crop of mosquitoes! Oh yeah. Right! That keeps them (Parks) in business because they'll spray that whole stretch with pesticide during the season. That'll make it good for the wildlife, birds, turtles, and those "herring" they're dumping in there. The papers will warn us to stay away because of the peticides and NYC Parks will keep spraying more.

I went for a walk along the east and west banks yesterday. Duck eggs all over. Not in nests. Just in the brush and along the paths. What's THAT about? WHY are these eggs not being taken care of?

There are places where the mud makes it so that you can't enjoy a quiet walk.

There are places where the water is collecting and will breed mosquitoes come the warm weather.

Trees are either rotting and falling or being cut down. The natural barrier between the river and the parkway is GONE!

It just keeps getting WORSE! It wouldn't be so bad if NYC Parks hadn't put up those "Forever Wild" signs years back. But those are gone too. I guess they chaged their minds? No, wait... NO MINDS TO CHANGE!

Meanwhile, per the Daily News, they're paying something like 1,250.00 dollars to plant trees in the city. Yup, good use of taxpayers' money all around!

Here comes summer. It's going to be a mess!
