OK it's cleaner. Ok it's brighter. Ok it's probably safer to be there. But nobody asked anybody what they wanted down there before they came a tore everything up. This board is fantastic! It's about time we had some way of letting somebody know what we people who always used to sit there wanted. The tree where I used to sit to have my little cocktail at the end of the day is gone. And the people who are coming around these days just don't have any respect for the place. They throw garbage all over the place. They even change their kids diapers and throw the dirty ones on the ground or worse in the water! Is THIS what the damned Parks Department wants there? What was so wrong with US being there? Sit and have a beer or something and talk with the people we knew. All the people I knew are gone now and I can tell you why. The people who are coming down there now are just no good. And it's hot now because there are not trees to to make shade. They're all cut down. I miss my old river. If NYC paid for all this damage then they must be using tax money and if they are then they owe it to the taxpayers to fix what they destroyed. Benepe should be fired and so should the Bronx politicians who allowed this. They took our tax money and did what they damn well pleased with it and none of it's really any good. We paid for them to do this to us. Can anybody do anything to change it or stop it or maybe get our money back? Or maybe there should be a meeting or demonstration or something. Anyway, I said what I have to. I just miss the nice place I used to relax at.
