My niece did this, especially when she would get sick with something else her ears would do the same and she is about 2 years old. But the Dr told my sister to take the earrings out and let her ears heal, they may close up, depending upon how long they have been pierced. But if they do, I would wait maybe like 6 months before piercing them again. -- Say What

Thank you so much to everyone! I am taking her to her ped this afternoon so they can keep an eye on it too. I was just so worried that there might be permanent damage and I can't imagine screwing my kid up aleady when she's only two years old. The ears were pierced when she was 8 weeks old, so I am really hoping they can heal fine and if the holes don't close it's no more cheap costume earrings from Claire's!!
