Oh, and I don't think he was "embarrassed" at all - not by the use of the phrase itself. Maybe a bit "hoo boy, how do I respond to that?", but not "Oh my heavens, I can't believe she said that! I'm mortified!" No. DJE is a 50 y/o man who had to "scroll down a ways" to find the "craziest thing he's ever done" that could be printed.
