After reading and hearing from Ausiello that Close to Home may be canceled, I felt compelled to express my total frustration with that idea. Also I was wondering, is Ausiello EVER going to say anything positive about a show David James Elliot is in????

I know Close to Home was 'on the bubble' but the addition of David James Elliot seems to have brought their numbers up in the ratings and I don't understand why they want to drop a show that is winning in its time slot. I've really enjoyed the show, the changes that were made and the setting(being a Hoosier, I like that they're centering around Indy)

I've read that they are trying to attract the younger demographic and in essence if you're over 34, I guess it doesn't matter what you want to see on TV, its all about the 18 to 34 year olds.

What I don't get is that we make up a larger part of the population(I'm proud to say I'm 49), and more often than not, the 18 to 34 year olds aren't going to stay in on Friday night, they're going out. Not only that, if the advertisers are after their money, they should appeal to us, because many of them in the younger age group aren’t spending THEIR money, they're spending ours.

Who ever the powers that be are should take that into consideration.

[> [> Kim, well said! The so-called preferred age group is often struggling to survive, or to pay off school loans, deal with car loans and their first homes or apartments, maybe also child(ren) - they are far from the top in earning power or dollars! I have an 18 yr old, and had to laugh when you said "They're spending OUR money" - how true! -- Janlaw, 12:07:48 03/30/07 Fri [1]
