It's that very last step which is both the hardest and the most significant in "recovery" from addiction (of any type)! Where these programs fail, it's that final step in Step 4--and truthfully, I'm not sure I've taken that step myself!!

The key to anyone's "recovery" depends on their individual personality--and sometimes, that "key" isn't discovered---ever!! (Remember Harm's comment in "Good Intentions" about a person's true nature being buried so deep they never understand it"?) And that makes it really a sad, tragic case, no matter which side one sits/stands on. Unfortunately, what really gets me is the "judgmental" nature of "victims"--some of them, anyway!! And--whatever happened to the notion of "attracting more flies with 'honey' than 'vinegar'" anyway???

Most people are aware there are mean nasty people out there but the fact that a person may be unaware of their danger doesnt give anyone the right to attack them. That sounds like the old 'she was asking for it defense'. Im with Annabeth I dont care what his personal issues were he deserved to pay for what he did and a whole lot more than he did. The other guy should have too but he had a better lawyer and there wasnt enough evidence. We're not talking about false accusations here we're talking about deliberate acts of harm to another human being.

[> [> [> Uh oh, I'm actually going to be in the 'grey area' here. LOL. I think the ep gave us two examples of men who did a equally terrible thing(Lets also not forget the young man who kept his silence so that he could pledge with that fraternity) BUT there was a man who was absolutely remorseful over what he had done, realized the gravity and the wrongness of it, and you had an unrepentant scumbag, who helped to orchestrate the incident and its cover up, walking free. -- mkim It was a VERY thought provoking episode, BOTH men were wrong, but genuine remorse should mean something.., 13:07:02 03/31/07 Sat [1]
