I thought you had to "keep" your title until at least the next year. In the sweeper contract it says that you can't run in another pageant until April....Are we conveniently overlooking this? Just curious.

Sweeper and Moses Lake titles are different. They dissipate after state to allow girls a chance to compete in their locals the following season. That's how Catherine Watters and Brittney Henry held a title for Kris 2 years in a row. If girls had to keep their titles for these pageants until they crowned their successors they would lose an entire year of eligibility. A lot of states have dissipating titles for most of their pageants, it's not an uncommon practice.

No rules are being broken. Stop trying to stir up trouble.

This is exactly how sweeper titles work. Sounds like someone is trying to cause trouble. Get over it, move on. There are no rules being broken.

What appears odd to me is that Miss Yakima and Miss Apple Valley organizers either extended their deadlines to accomodate Miss Washington losers, or the girls on the Miss Washington stage were enlisted in two pageants at the same time.
How does that work?

Yes, the deadlines are extended for those who do not win the title of Miss Washington (they are not "losers", as you so vulgarly characterized them).
It happens at every pageant, especially when a particularly promising contestant comes along.

Wow, sorry! Then I will say non-winners. I did not mean to offend.
But basically you are telling me that all pageant deadlines are extended to accommodate particularly promising candidates. Then why are there deadlines to begin with?

She was Miss Washington's Outstanding Teen when auditions took place in March (?) and yet was allowed to compete in the Miss Tri-Cities pageant (this weekend). Ok, so she doesn't have her state teen title any longer but when the MTC auditions took place she was a reigning titleholder.

Never knew if it's allowed or not but apparently it is if it's happening in other pageants.

The more you focus on Jenae the less you are going to win. You are obsessed with this girl and her status to compete. No rules were broken. And if you are so concerned with this you need to contact her, or the miss tri citites board. Do I think you are going to win? Nope. Not even if Jenae was not competing. If others on here can sniff out your insecurity on a message board, it will be a huge glowing light above your head on stage. Get over it, move on, and try to focus on you. Not so much on everyone else. MMkay?

No. What you have is some very insecure girls trying anything and everything to discredit the MTCO and her eligibility.
This little poster started this campaign before the Miss WA pageant. It is old and tired.
And now when Jenae wins this person will go on a year long bitching campaign. I know I don't want to hear it. And Im pretty sure others don't either. At the end of the day this is pageant. That's all. It is not a cure for cancer, an end to world peace. It a pageant. That very few people out in the world care about. What I do care about is the slander of the MTCO and an innocent girl.
This poster has some serious issues and it is honestly a growing concern.

I don't think the author was speaking about Janae at all!! I believe he was referring to the fact that the Miss Yakima and Miss Apple Valley pageants had early June deadlines for pageants in early August. Suddenly it changed to the day after Miss Washington. Were girls openly solicited at Miss Washington? Is this really fair? I have already been told on this board that some of our Washington pageants are not as legit as others. I'm sad to hear this. Is it fair to the girls who are already running? So suddenly local girls already at work are up against past titleholders fresh off the Miss Washington stage already to run again 3 weeks later. I don't know. Somebody try to convince me that this is ok. BTW, I love all these girls, there is no hating here. Thanks for your time.

The more YOU attempt to redirect makes people speculate if the local pageants are indeed fixed or cheating the system some how. The best way to dispell the rumors is to have honest conversations rather than attempt to engage in a straw man argument.

The point of what I posted was that there was precedent and most likely before Janae as well. Janae is the latest girl who was a titleholder (in her case a teen state title) being allowed to start the competition process before giving up her title. Of course she's going to be used as an example since it obviously has happened.

Were the rules broken? Most likely not but it depends on the wording of the contracts. Considering the actual competition isn't for two more days and she is not the teen titleholder any longer does help her. Was it fair for her to compete this year rather than wait a year? Some people will say it was fair and others will say it's not fair.

I don't know or have not met any of the girls competing in Tri Cities. Some people on here take pageants so damn seriously I thin they are need of some therapy. It is a pageant that very few people out in the world care about. Other than people on this board do you really think the general public cares? No, they don't. Get some perspective on yourself and what a pageant is. This is not life or death here.

Could the other possibility be that they don't have enough girls to compete? The Miss America rules state that in order to give a title away there has to be at least three girls competing. Could it possibly be that some of the girls who said they were going to compete backed out so there wasn't enough girls to cover the Miss America rule?

Miss America rules state there must be 4 girls to give a title.
And no, there were not enough girls.
