That make sense. I also heard that contestants aren't allowed to talk to anyone in the MAO organization (especially Miss West Sound). If they can't get along with other titleholders, how can they be role models?
The new titleholders seem very sweet, but they also seem like puppets. I don't know if I can support this organization anymore...

When Miss Poulsbo and Miss Kitsap were MAO affiliated, the titleholders were treated unfairly by the director, Michele Wasson. She favored one over the other year after year and the girls got sick of it. Letters were written to the state board and local volunteers supported the girls letters. When it came to renewing their contract for the following year (from '09 - '10), state didn't renew it because of the complaints from numerous witnesses of the directors actions towards the girls.
That's why Amanda Cheatham started the West Sound program to give Kitsap county a local titleholder to represent at the state pageant.
The reason the girls of Poulsbo, Kitsap, and Silverdale are not allowed to associate with West Sound is because the director, Michele Wasson, will not let them and she will actually take away their title and scholarships if she finds out that they do communicate in any way. She makes them sign a contract. She's obvilously crazy and doesn't know how to just move on....grudge holding at its best. But she did it all to herself by how she treated past contestants and titleholders and fixing pageants to get the girl she wanted, not necessarily the most deserving.

As a past contestant, I can confirm that this is true. I'm not all about bashing down organizations, but this is one I don't mind degrading. The winners are usually insecure girls who can credit all their success to the MissPKS pageant. I attended the pageant as well to support a friend and there were no more than 4 impressive talents (21 contestants in all). And the on stage answers were not strong either, many mumbled their words or spoke quietly. The director then proceeded to follow the judges to their room where they chose the winners. I must say, I was very disappointed.
